Annual membership is currently £35 per person but please see Sundry Charges for an explanation of our membership model and why other charges might apply for some groups.
On 1st January 2026 our New Year Special membership opens. This offers membership from 1st January 2026 to 31st August 2027 for £55 per person.
Early enrolment for the 2026-27 year opens on 1st May 2026. Enrolling early will mean your first year’s subscription (£35) will give you up to 16 months membership until 31st August 2027 allowing you plenty of time to explore all that Gu3a has to offer you before the new year begins.
For new members to join there are two options:
- By Internet Bank Transfer: Download the membership form as a Word document(click Membership Application Word) Complete the form and email it to the Membership Secretary who will reply giving you details of the bank account to which the membership fee should be paid and the reference to quote.
- Postal: Download the membership form either as a Word document(click Membership Application Word) or as a pdf(click Membership Application pdf) Complete the form and post it with a cheque for £30 per member to Membership Secretary, Guildford Area u3a, PO Box 1631, Guildford, GU1 9HA.
Note If you are using Microsoft's Edge browser, you will need to right click the link for the Word document and select "Save Target As" in order to download it. For tablets or smart phones using Google Chrome or Samsung's internet browser, press and hold the link then select the "Save link" or "Download link" option.
For existing members to renew, please wait for the renewal letter/email you will receive in July 2026. This is prepopulated with the details we currently hold so that you can check they are correct. You then have the option of paying by Internet Bank Transfer, by posting a cheque or by debit/credit card.
The bank details for payment by internet bank transfer are included with your renewal letter.
To pay by debit/credit card you will need the following information:
- Membership Number, will be found on your Renewal Letter.
- Forename
- Surname
- Postcode
- Email address
Previous members who did not renew 2024-25 and do not know their Membership Number please contact the Membership Secretary
Please note that debit/credit card payments are processed via PayPal, who charge for this service. More of your subscription will be available to support our activities if you pay by Internet Bank Transfer (preferred option) or cheque.
We are now accessing PayPal via the U3A Beacon system, so you can renew by credit/debit card using the Members Portal
